[091/365] – Spring Vine

Spring Vine

Ok, so it’s not spring, I know this. But it’s 54 degrees outside, and it sure FEELS like spring.

I took a quick 30 or 40 minute walk up around the park behind my house this afternoon. It was the most packed I’ve seen it be since I started going. Everyone wanted to be there for the nice weather. Even a bunch of ducks and canadian geese decided to show up! I tried my luck at shooting pictures of the ducks and geese, but none of the pictures really made me as happy as this one. I love the crispness and clarity of this shot. I also like the line across the image from the thorny vine.

200mm focal length, 1/250 second exposure, f/8, ISO 200

[074/365] – Helpful Vine

Helpful Vine

Yesterdays snow finally turned into something! Well, not too much. It’s about 4 inches. But it did stick to the branches nicely. The sky is blue, but there is new snow everywhere. So of course I headed out on a nice photowalk. I ended up taking maybe 200 pictures. There were so many that I was proud of, I had a hard time picking one for today.

I really liked this one however, I love how the strangling vine has managed to hold up this leaf. Plus the nice blue background, and snow on the edges, really makes the shot for me. I’m very very happy with this shot.

There was a professional photographer out and about in my little park behind my house this morning! He had an assistant carrying his tripod and many lenses/bodies etc etc. At least I know I’m not the only one drawn to this park!
