Sunset Grass

I got outside today! Yay! This time it was around sunset. It felt really good to get out and walk around, I’ve been cooped up in this house for too long!

I walked around Malden a bit and around the park behind our house. At the top of a hill, the sun was shining through the dried stalks of grass. I played around and got a few good shots, this one is my favorite! I like the golden coloring of the grass, and the horizon is nicely placed in the background.

The composition is a bit busy, but I like it.

[049/365] – Sunset Silhouette

Sunset Silhouette

Tonight we’re having a little farewell dinner for my roomate. He’s not heading home until the 5th of February. but, they are inducing merri on wednesday, so this pretty much the last chance we have before he leaves!

I am making up some meatballs and sauce. While the sauce and meatballs were simmering, I headed out and took some shots of the sunset. I really like the silhouette of the tree and house on this one. There were a few others that I like from earlier in the day, but I’m feeling the sunsets lately. Dunno why!

[048/365] – Sunset from the Malden T

Sunset from the Malden T

I missed a fantastic sunset at the Community College T stop, so I made a point of stopping on the raised platform of the Malden T and taking some shots. I’m really happy with this one, I like the light on the post from itself, it matches well with the trailing edge of sunset that is left.

I’m still kicking myself for not having gotten off the train at Community College. Oh well, next time I know I will, since I blew it so badly this time!

[038/365] – Harvard Medical School

Harvard Medical School

There was sun out after work! I got out a bit earlier than usual, but not by much, I was so happy to see the sun again! The great thing is, the light was just about perfect on this building at the end of the quad.

I tried to compose it in a visually interesting manner. I put the branches in the top right, and tried to have that blue triangle of sky as well. I kept the shadow in the bottom left to try to balance things out a bit. I hope you like it!

[030/365] – Reflection of Sunset

Reflection of SunsetThis is the shot I’ve been trying to get of Boston all those nights! Well this or something similar. I love the reflection of the sunset behind me on the Hancock Building. Every once in a while I see a nice reflection like this as I walk home, today I had my camera with me and was ready to go!
