[115/365] – Handmade Quilt

Handmade Quilt

I’ve been hanging the quilt my aunt made for Gianna on the edge of the crib to block the setting sun from blinding her while she naps. Yesterday I saw the sun shining through the first layer and I meant to take a picture, but I didn’t have time. So today I made a point to do it.

I had to do it while in the middle of a 2 hour marathon feeding session for Gianna, but I got a few good shots. I liked this one the best. I like the contrast between the lights and darks, as well as the sharp focus on the left and the blurriness of the rest.

[107/365] – Single Drop

Single Drop

I shot this on my way down the stairs this morning.

It’s the very last trace of the massive amount of rain we have gotten here in Boston. I love how the drop is just perched there on the leaf, just hanging out and reflecting the sun and all the things around it.

It’s so nice and green and sunny out today as well, I just love it. It’s so nice to have some sun again. The whole weekend is supposed to be like this, 60′s and 70′s. I can’t wait! YAY!

[103/365] – Pinecone

Pinecone

Had a nice busy day yesterday, I had to take the cats to the vet at 11:15am, so I picked up a rental car at 10am. After that I had my italian lesson at 3pm at downtown crossing, and then met my father, mother, and aunt near haymarket to have dinner at Al Dente in the North End. I was so tired at the end I didn’t even go to Modern Pastry afterwards. I just made my way home with my father and then went almost immediately to bed.

I took this shot of this lone pinecone on the hill near my house. I was heading towards the car rental place at that time.

I had actually seen it a couple of times before and liked how the light hit it, but I didn’t have my camera with me those times.

[095/365] – First Buds of the season

First Buds of the season

I got out early enough to catch the sun setting in my own town.

Just a quick shot today. Far too much drama in my life.

[094/365] – Fuzzy Plant

Fuzzy Plant

I stopped by the park behind the Stop & Shop at Brigham Circle today after work, to walk around. The sun was just starting to set, it was about 5:15pm or 5:30pm.

Last time I was there, I had tried to get some pictures of these dried out plant with the sun shining through them, but it hadn’t turned out as well. So I spent quite a bit of time on it this time, about 10 or 15 minutes just trying to get decent composure, and decent light. I am happy with the final result, although if the wind hadn’t been blowing so much it would have been better.
