[111/365] – Forsythia

Forsythia

A nice temperature day out today, but gray and blah by the time I got out of work.

Such a shame. I took this shot of a forsythia bush next to the mission hill church. There are cherry trees blossoming in the background, but it’s hard to tell.

I shot it a few different ways, at various different apertures to see if I could get it to look better. I finally settled on the f/8 version, since the background is MILDLY in focus, but not so sharp as to be distracting.

Hopefully tomorrow will see the return of the good weather, supposedly sunny and awesome, we’ll see!

[107/365] – Single Drop

Single Drop

I shot this on my way down the stairs this morning.

It’s the very last trace of the massive amount of rain we have gotten here in Boston. I love how the drop is just perched there on the leaf, just hanging out and reflecting the sun and all the things around it.

It’s so nice and green and sunny out today as well, I just love it. It’s so nice to have some sun again. The whole weekend is supposed to be like this, 60′s and 70′s. I can’t wait! YAY!

[106/365] – Droplets

Droplets

It’s been raining for so long here in Boston that I forgot what sun looks like.

This morning was the tail end of it. It was still cloudy and gray out, but there was no more rain. I took this shot of the lilies out front having been beaten down by the rain, and the cold weather. They are laying flat on the ground now. I really like how the droplets look on them

I took some more shots on the way home, it’s nice and sunny out, and kinda warm now too! But I still prefer this mornings shot. Hopefully it will stay nice throughout the weekend. It’s supposed to be warm here, and in Maine too, where I’ll be spending Easter with my daughter.

[104/365] – Slightly Rainy

Slightly Rainy

It’s slightly rainy today here in Boston.

I took this shot near work, ironically on the road named “riverway” I got a kick out of that. It was full of standing water and all the parked cars on the side of the road were just like this, water approaching a level high enough to start flooding the interior.

I think we’ve now gotten the most rain on record for march here in MA! WOO!

The old record was from the 50′s and it was 11 inches of rain for march. I think we’re up to 12 or 13 Inches now. Not bad not bad.

[098/365] – Rainy Saturday

Rainy Saturday

I had a good time at my italian tutoring today, except for all the walking through the rain. I was about 30 minutes early for the class, so I spent some time walking around and taking pictures in the old part of the Boston Public Library.

I went out in to the courtyard, which really is quite spectacular. My tutor had talked it up as being one of the best ones in Boston, and I can see why. On a nice day, when the sun is out, and it’s nice and warm, I bet it would be amazing.

This shot was taken at the Malden T as I got ready to brave the rain for my walk home.
