[057/365] – Lantern

Lantern

I’m really enjoying my new 35mm lens. This thing is crazy fast. The problem is, it makes me crave a fast lens in larger sizes! Like.. 300mm :) Too bad I’m not crazy rich.

I took this one outside the house this afternoon, I love the bokeh on this. It’s only a couple of good bokeh, but it’s pretty.

It’s nice to be home, that is for sure. I enjoy sleeping in my own bed. I went out for a bit tonight trying to get some shots. The moon was super huge on the horizon this evening, but I was unable to get a good shot. I ended up with this shot of a lantern on the bottom of the stairs up to our house.

[056/365] – Gianna is home!

Gianna is home!Busy day today, Merri got discharged, and we got to bring Gianna home! Hectic and busy is the way of things. As you can see, I’ve waited until the very last minute for my picture today, but I’ve made it!

[051/365] – Rainy Evening

Rainy EveningUgh, what a crappy rainy afternoon! I was soaked after the walk home. I took this shot from the entrance to the T, just before starting my walk home. I’ve took a bunch of shots on my way home, taking care to keep my camera dry of course! I really like how you can see the rain streaming down below the light, and I really like the effect of the people rushing off to their cars.

[050/365] – Texture of a Leaf

Texture of a LeafI went out for a quick photowalk this afternoon around the park a couple streets behind my house. It’s a crappy gray day, so not tons of great light. I love the texture of this leaf however. I also managed to find a dead squirrel that is curled up like it’s sleeping. I guess winter has taken its toll already. It was depressing, and a bit morbid, so I didn’t want to post a picture of that today.

[049/365] – Sunset Silhouette

Sunset Silhouette

Tonight we’re having a little farewell dinner for my roomate. He’s not heading home until the 5th of February. but, they are inducing merri on wednesday, so this pretty much the last chance we have before he leaves!

I am making up some meatballs and sauce. While the sauce and meatballs were simmering, I headed out and took some shots of the sunset. I really like the silhouette of the tree and house on this one. There were a few others that I like from earlier in the day, but I’m feeling the sunsets lately. Dunno why!
