I swear this will be my last ornament picture until next December. This actually hangs up all year round at my house, since it’s so damn big. It doesn’t even fit on my little ghetto 4.5 foot tall fake tree. After a long day of work, I didn’t have the energy to go for a walk, so I focused my efforts on finding a shot inside. I tried to get a good self portrait, but I didn’t like what I ended up with. So instead I decided on the lamps. I should work on some “abstract” sort of shots. I’ll have to put the 55-200 back on instead for that!

[026/265] – Cthulhu

Jon has a hell of a tree topper for his Christmas tree, Cthulhu. I have been trying to get some good shots of him for the last couple of days, and since it’s all gray and snowy/blah out there, I chose this picture today. I like the texture of the fabric, and the slightly out of focus lights in the background.
[023/365] – Window Bell

This morning was my last morning in Maine. On my way down the stairs I noticed this great reflection in the window of the front door. I hadn’t had my coffee yet, so I had a hard time getting the shot. But I’m pleased with the results! We headed back down to Malden at about 11am, and are already unpacked. I have this week off from work as well, so I’m heading down to Connecticut to visit a friend until Saturday.
[022/365] – Car Trails
by jforest on 14. May, 2010 in Project365
I tried to get some shots of my parents house all lit up tonight. I pulled up the shades trying to get the christmas tree through the window. It didn’t work out, there are some thin sheets of fabric behind in the way, and the light from the candles blocked them out. I’ll try to get some later with out the candles on.
By happenstance, a minivan pulled by when I was on a 30 second exposure of my parents and their neighbors house. I love the trails from the lights, so I spent the next 15 or so minutes trying to get more. I got a bunch, but nothing as interesting as the original accidental one.
[021/365] – Dickens Village
by jforest on 14. May, 2010 in Project365
So I tried to take some pictures of my parents house tonight with my new tripod. But while I was out there a couple of cops came by, one in a car, another running after his dog, asking if I’d seen a person run by. I said no, but asked what was up. Apparently someone had fled the scene of some crime, and they were looking for him. I decided to take some shots from inside instead of tempt fate tonight.
My parents have a Department 56 Dickens Village set up on the mantle in the living room. I like the way the buildings look all lit up so I figured I’d try to get a nice shot looking down the street. Turned out ok I think!
