Tonight I cut the big candle I have in half, so I could get a shot of the flames from directly to the side. I never use the candle other than for photography fun, so I don’t really mind that I’m destroying it bit by bit
Maybe next time I’ll cut the other half of the stuff off, and have the flames flying free in the air.
I liked the shape of the central flame on this one. I tried a ton of different settings, different f/stops and different shutter speeds. I like the lower f/5.6 that this one is, because the background is a bit blurry, in the f/8 and f/11 shots and above, it’s very sharp and clear, and I think it distracts from the flames themselves.
