[086/365] – Decay

Decay

I got to work from home today so that we could bring Gianna to the pediatrician for her one month checkup! She’s one month and one day old today. She’s also grown from four pounds, twelve ounces, to SEVEN POUNDS, THREE OUNCES! Wow, quite the growth spurt! She’s also twenty inches long now, instead of the seventeen point five inches she was when born. She’s a growing girl!

Todays shot is of some decaying flowers that Merri’s aunt and cousins got for her while she was in the hospital two weekends ago. I set them up on the kitchen table, set up my tripod, and tried a bunch of different lighting before I got this shot. I love the backlight on them. It really helps you see the texture of the petals.

It was shot with my 35mm lens, at 1/8 of a second exposure, f/2.5, ISO 200.
