[065/365] - Robin

Robin

I went for a nice long photowalk today. But of course, the weather was still gray and blah out. So sad.

I wandered from my house down towards the subway, then back up to the park behind my house. I tried to branch out and take some different style shots, things that are more urban and less nature-y. But, I when I was able to get close enough to these robins, I decided this had to be my shot of the day. It's kinda sorta spring... right?

Plus, my friend Jason was trying to get me to take pictures of "something living" for a change, so this fits the bill!

[064/365] - Burned Out Window

Burned Out Window

After feeding Gianna this morning, I went out for a photowalk. I wandered further than I have been going lately to find some new stuff to shoot. I did find a playground, further on from the graveyard I found last night. I took a few shots there, then wandered down Highland Ave. to a small park there. On the way back to my house I decided to check out what is left of that building that burned in the huge fire a few weeks back. I climbed up the hill behind it and got this shot. I love the way the pile of debris is lit up in the bottom right. The stark contrast of the white background and the black frame and border really helps the mood of the photo I think.

Sad that I tried to wander far away and still ended up liking the picture of the building practically next door the best.

Oh, I also saw one of the cats that has gone missing, it's hanging out around back of the building.

I also got a few great shots of Boston from the hill I climbed as well, so it wasn't all bad!

[063/365] - Macabre

Macabre

What a gray blah day here in Massachusetts.

I managed to get out of the house just around sunset and wandered around. Not that you can see any good sun out there, since it was so cloudy.

The name on it reminded me LOST so I had to take it.

There were a bunch of knocked over gravestones, which made me really sad. It made me realize that we'll probably not be remembered 50 or 100 years after we are dead.

I better make the most of my time on this earth.

How macabre right? Hence the title!

Ok, done for now, back again tomorrow!

Oh right, I forgot about this, gotta make it long to make it work.

[062/365] - Carving

Carving

A quick shot tonight, as I didn't get out and about today.

This is a cool carving on the front of my dresser, a dresser that I picked up for 25 bucks on craigslist a few months ago. It's a solid wood dresser, and I dig it.

Anyway, I'm tired, and I need to get this posted before midnight!

Ok, gnight!

[061/365] - Sunset Grass

Sunset Grass

I got outside today! Yay! This time it was around sunset. It felt really good to get out and walk around, I've been cooped up in this house for too long!

I walked around Malden a bit and around the park behind our house. At the top of a hill, the sun was shining through the dried stalks of grass. I played around and got a few good shots, this one is my favorite! I like the golden coloring of the grass, and the horizon is nicely placed in the background.

The composition is a bit busy, but I like it.

Hope you enjoy it!
